bachelor parties. i've only ever been to a couple, and i have a couple coming up this year...plus mine, of course, which hopefully someone will organize! :)

anyway, a while back i got invited to one that's coming up, and was really looking forward to it. then i get the e-mail: they want $100pp! i was floored. not only am i now expected to give an engagement present (i did) and a wedding present (i will), but i have to fork over $100 with no clear notion of what it's going to. the only thing specified was that dinner was $38 and a FIXED menu. so i don't even get to eat what i want! so i backed out...i can't afford to spend that kind of money on a casual acquaintance at best. the other bachelor party i'm going to in the near future made no such monetary demands. i was simply invited to join the party...whatever it costs me, at least i'll have control over it, because i don't necessarily have to spend a lot of money on food or drinks.

well, that's my rant for the day. not much else to say. it's so hot in my building i can barely think. they were supposed to turn on the a/c yesterday, but it was "broken". i'm not sure how a building that's less than 2 years old can have a broken down air conditioner already...
