Sarcastic Bastard

well, as some people have noticed, it's been a few days since my last blog. it's been a long few days, with some sad news. this is not an obituary blog, because the subject is still alive. but unfortunately, our cat charlie has moved on. she's had a few bouts with illness over the past few months, and my dad could see that she was suffering a bit, and wasn't able to afford the proper care for her. so we were left with no option but to surrender her to the humane society. it was a very sad task to do, after all the years we've had her. losing a pet is a terrible thing, but it's especially heartbreaking when you have to leave a pet to an unknown environment. the whole ride down in the car, she was meowing sadly (from being scared of being in the car), and then walking away from her...it was too much to bear. my dad was hit really hard, too...when he got home from work last night, it was very sad to not be greeted at the door by charlie. he couldn't even bring himself to clean up her eating area. it won't be the same around their house without her :(

so what else...i'm getting a laptop, that's pretty sweet. work is giving me one! just out of the blue...but hey, i'm not gonna complain!

but i can complain about other things. i'm gonna choose not to discuss them here, though, because it's not appropriate. shawna and i met with the rabbi who will be officiating our wedding, and we were very impressed. he's really friendly, funny, and helpful. he gave us recommendations, gave us our options in terms of specific traditions, and made the process very straightforward. weddings for dummies :)

anyway, that's about it for now. i had something else on my mind earlier, but now i forget. oh, before i go, i'll mention that i bought red dwarf seasons 1 & 2 on dvd last week...it's very cool, i just wish i didn't have to wait another year for 3 & 4, then yet another year for 5 & 6, etc. oh well. g'night.
