first post of 2003...
lots to say today. actually, i've had lots to say for a while, but have been too lazy/busy to write. yesterday was my 24th birthday, which got a whole weekend's worth of attention. it was quite nice, really...my parents even threw me a little party at their house (my first birthday party with family since i was a little kid!), though the real reason for that was to get some of the extended families to meet and get to know each other a bit. it was very nice, and i even got some cool presents! :) and on saturday night, i went out for the usual evening with friends, which was a lot of fun, except i was still somewhat sick and had no voice (and was also really tired, so didn't stay out as late as i otherwise would have).
but birthday stuff aside, i got a great new job! today was my first day, and i'm already impressing them with my quick learning and understanding of the system, which is a very cool one i've never seen/worked with before. although at first it seems a little less than professional, it quickly becomes clear that it is an amazing machine, and with some tweaks and new features, it'll be as efficient as a "traditional" switcher (even better, actually, with all its incorporated features). they also have a very impressive chroma key system that uses blue LEDs to "create" a blue background that's a perfect chroma key! it's really cool. finally, the 3rd piece of the puzzle is the interactive learning system. it's all very leading-edge, and has endless possibilities. i'm really excited about this new job, and i'm looking forward to steady work and a stable paycheque :)
more to come in the next little while, i hope. now that i'll be working daily, i'd like to get into a cycle of evening blogs.
